About me:
Hi! I'm Claus! I am 1 year and 8 months old. I am an American Bulldog mix. I was found as a stray in Houston and brought to BARC, the City of Houston's animal shelter. I spent 70 days in the shelter waiting for my forever family to find me. I am still waiting to find them, but now I am staying with my foster parents and my foster brother and sister in their home. I am a happy go lucky guy who loves to play with toys and my foster sister and is learning manners and socializing skills.
What I really need to find my forever home is to get better. I have a torn ACL on one of my back legs. I spend a lot of time laying around because it is hard to walk. My knee can be fixed with surgery, but it is expensive. I need your help to raise enough money so I can have the surgery I need. Once I have the surgery, I will spend 8 weeks recovering in my foster home. Then I will be back on the hunt for my forever family!
Please help me get my second chance! And if you want to meet and see if we are meant to be best friends for life, contact my foster family!
A note from my foster mom:
Claus also has dermititis and heartworms. His dermatitis has already been treated and his hair should begin to grow back soon. His heartworm treatment will be sponsored by Friends of BARC, a non-profit organization who does wonderful work for the many dogs in need at the shelter. We will start his heartworm treatment several weeks after his knee surgery, so Claus will be as good as new and ready for a long, happy life in his new home in about 3 months!
