2nd Annual Take Back the City

Projectmack's 2nd Annual Take Back the City Gun Violence Awareness Weekend returns this July bigger and better than ever! The weekend kicks off July 20th with our benefit concert! The concert is the highlight of the weekend featuring artists who are all products of the city and now are pursuing musical careers. The concert starts at 6:00 pm and will wrap up at 9:30 PM. Featuring Hippie Scum, 217 Phileo, Jared Grimble, Gracia, Wynton Gage, and Shawn Brooks. There will be vendors, live music, prizes, giveaways, and fun for the entire family. The weekend continues on Saturday night with our "Springfield's Finest" all-star alumni basketball game at Southeast High school. All these players were our City's standouts during their high school careers and now have come back to compete in the mecca of all alumni games. Tip off is at 7:00 pm and admission is $2 for Adults and $1 for students. Featuring our celebrity coaches, Lawrence Thomas and Tammy Bolden.

This weekend was created in response to the Gun Violence plaguing the city of Springfield. We firmly believe this issue won't improve unless our entire city comes together to make a change. Take Back the City is the only event that brings the entire city of Springfield together and shines a light and celebrates all the positive individuals and things we have going on. 

All donations will go toward three scholarships at LHS, SHS, and SSHS, created in memory of the innocent gun violence victims.  The scholarships will be awarded to students who are more susceptible to gun and gang violence but instead are choosing an alternate route.
