Ethan VanCamp, 14, was burned severely on Friday, September 3, 2016 and admitted to Children's Hospital. After months of fighting, Ethan lost his battle last night, Sunday, February 19, 2017. Please keep Ethan's family in your prayers and ask for God's peace and comfort in the days, weeks, and months ahead. The goal of this page is now to help Kim financially as she faces not only medical debt, but funeral expenses for her sweet boy.
Previous from September:
Ethan and his mom Kim had spent the day together at home, working in the yard. Ethan went back outside around 10 p.m. and started working on one of the tiki torches. The tiki torch somehow blew up and the next thing Kim saw was Ethan, engulfed in flames. She was also burned on her hands and leg as she tried to exstinguish the fire. He was taken by Angel 1 to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
We have set up this page to help raise money for Ethan and his mom as he will be in the hospital for at least 5 months. 76% of his body is burned and he will undergo multiple surgeries. He has a LONG recovery process ahead of him and Kim will be unable to work. The only person who will have access to the account is Kim's sister, Amy. This account was set up this way at Kim's request due to the fact that she will be at the hospital day and night.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and we hope this page will serve not only as a way for us to give financially to Ethan and Kim, but also through words of encouragement and love.
