Greg loved his German studies and time in Europe and Germany. He spent his senior year at Vanderbilt in Regensburg, Germany at the University of Regensburg. The William Greg Slonecker German Linguistics Memorial Scholarship Program will support students who share Greg’s passion for the German language and who want to experience studying at a university in Germany. The program will be professionally managed pro-bono by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. where Greg once worked and whose mission is to support the educational dreams of students around the world. The first awards will be made in 2017 to match the academic enrollment calendar. Greg would love to know that he left a legacy that supported students, like he once was: curious and open to experience new cultures, relationships and languages. Greg stayed in touch with the friends he made during his travels throughout his life.
