Hernando Beach assistance fund

My name is Sandra Day. I am a local business owner in Hernando County. I have lived here for 21 years and love it here. I am deeply concerned about and passionate about helping the people in Hernado Beach who were affected by Hurricane Hermine. This is personal to me as my sister Eileen lost everything in Super Storm Sandy a few years ago and I witnessed first hand how this turns lives upside down. I rushed into action to help her and want to help perfect strangers because that is what we Americans do! Many residents of Hernando Beach were recently affected by Hurricane Hermine. I personally spoke with several people who have lost everything in their homs and several homes are deemed uninhabitable and are being condemned by the county. I hear that the Red Cross and the Federal government have been slow in getting them assistance because there are so many people along the coast that were affected. Many of the displaced residents are staying in local motels and don't have the resources to to this for long. I spoke with one woman this morning who is beyond overwhelmed and traumatized. We are looking to help these folks during their transition until the Calvary arrives! I am being optimistic!
Any amount you can donate will go directly to the affected families. The monies raised will be used to help the families with their temporary housing needs as well as food and daily life expenses. Please email me if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me. I truly appreciate your help and prayers for the families are appreciated!
