Washer & Dryer for Erin Elementary

Hi! We are Q108, a radio station in Clarksville, TN. Recently we read about a school in another city who discovered the reason they had such a high absentee rate was because children were embarrassed to come to school in dirty clothes and had no way to wash them. After the school installed a washer and dryer attendance was up dramatically and the children were even starting to participate in extracurricular activities. In relating this story on the radio it was brought to our attention that a local school, Erin Elementary, was having the same problem.  We received a heartbreaking email that told the story of a child who sometimes only had a meal if he came to school and was missing school because of the shame of his dirty clothes. Can you imagine how self-conscious this child must be to starve to avoid the humiliation. The email went on to say this was just one of many stories. Thanks to our local Lowes we received an amazing deal on a brand new, top of the line, Samsung washer and dryer. We however need the funds to pay for these. That's where you come in! Please donate to help these children not only feel better about themselves but get the education they need to change the situation they are in .....and in some cases eat.
