Dad's Treatment & Road to Recovery

Well , our Dad has had a rough week, a worldwind of a week . Dad was brought in  to Mercy Hospital on friday for what we thought was a case of jaundice  he was well the color of a banana , but what we all didnt know is that they would find a tumor....SAY what yes that right  staff at mercy have been amazing in taking care of our father . You start to ask you self What did we do wrong? Why him, In all  he is the most loving , kind and passionate person you will ever meet and has already been through way to much. When we were young children dad was ina  freak accident at work and  fractured his spine and had to under go major surgery in Vermont,  But even before that  he broke his shoulder life has not been easy...He has not let any of this  bring him down .The passion dad has for his family , animals and helping others is far beyond word.....AS young children our dad showed us what is was like to give back he spent endless hours helping at my Mom's work ( nursing home ) doing activites, helping on the holidays  with  handing out meals and  but he didnt stop there he spent allot of time at the local food pantry helping. We grew up knowing what is was like to give back , take care of many  farm animals and  the  many dogs we would bring home !. Dad smiles and enegery  keeps mom , all us kids and the 5 grandkids going. ITs a shocker to all of us to know that Dad was diagnosed with Pancreas  Cancer  this week...Sad week lots of things rushing through our minds. He has been set up with the best Doctors and treatment plans out there.!BUT unfortantly the insurance dose not cover all of this treatment or travel. AS we all know our dad has not worked since 1993 he is in so much pain daily with is fractured Spine.... My mother works full time and still keeps her head on stright with all these appoitnments. We have a long 3-4 months coming up with Chemo, Radiation, and a whiple surgery that will last 5-8 hours its a majory surgery. For all of you that know my Dad know how amazing he is , how strong he is and how he do anything for his family, He has never asked for anything in life ...Now as a family we are looking to help raise some money for the out of pocket cost that they have to pay along the way for treatments, test, medications.


As of today Dad has lost 51 lbs and is underway to try to gain some of that weight back to get ready for 2 surgeries and the treatment plan.....He is in Good spirits and has good energy a tad tired and having alot of back pain. We have met with may doctors this week.





Basic Treatment for Dad Cancer is $85,000-$200,000.00  is sad these days that insurance even though your paying  thounda of dollars a month will not  cover life change treatments......



We are not ones to ask , but in times like this we look to others to keep us going <3
