Julia's Bolshoi Ballet Training

My name is Julia, I am 16 years old and I love to dance.
I live with my family in the beautiful town of Jericho, Vermont.  I have  been taking dance lessons since I was 3 years old, but started my formal ballet training at the age of 12.  I dream of becoming a prima ballerina with one of the world-renown ballet companies. 

This summer I completed a six weeks summer ballet intensive training with The Bolshoi Ballet Academy in New York City.  At the end of the program, I was invited by my teachers to train at the Bolshoi Academy in Moscow during 2016-2017 academic year.  It is a huge honor to be invited to train with some of the most talented ballet dancers in the world, and I am very excited about this opportunity!



The program starts in October of 2016.  Unfortunately, training at the Academy is very expensive, and they don't   offer any financial support to international students.  The tuition will cover the cost of my ballet classes, intensive Russian language classes, and my living expenses while in Moscow.  

While my family is doing everything they possibly can to support me and finance my dance education, the cost of the Academy is much more than my family can afford at this time. 



I hope that you will support my dream of becoming a professional ballerina.  Dancing at the Bolshoi Academy in Moscow will not only provide me with the world-class ballet training, but will also give me an opportunity to learn Russian, get experience living in a foreign country and make friends with ballet dancers from all over the world.

Dancing ballet and being on stage makes me so happy, and I can't imagine my life without it.  Over the last several years, I was fortunate to train with several wonderful local dance teachers in Vermont: Heather Morris (Heather Morris School of Dance), Alyssa Pettingill (Elan Academy of Classical Ballet ) and Alexander Nagiba (Vermont Ballet Theater School). I am so grateful to these teachers for encouraging me to dance and helping me become the best dancer I can be.  I am convinced that I am now ready to take the next step in my dance training and study at the Bolshoi.
