Murphy's Paw Rescue is on a mission to "Raise the RUFF"!
In less than 2 years, we have rescued over 500 unwanted dogs. These dogs were either next in line to be euthanized, neglected, thrown out on the streets, or simply weren't loved by anyone. Thanks to our CA dog hero Trixie and Unity Thrift volunteers (who pull dogs from death row every day), our local advocates who direct CT neglected and abused dogs our way, our selfless fosters, customers, tireless volunteers, Facebook friends and adopters...we have created the ultimate family of dog savers. From pit bulls to chihuahuas, newborns to seniors...we help whenever we can.
Murphy's Paw Rescue is currently a foster based rescue. We commit to rescuing at least 15-20 dogs every month. Without a facility in which to house these dogs, we rely strictly on our amazing foster families to care for these dogs until they are adopted. Well...with Round 30 approaching...we are ready to up the ante...and "Raise the Ruff"!
This fundraiser is aimed towards raising money to build a temporary 'home' for more rescue dogs. We successfully saved and placed over 500 dogs in two years using just fosters! But by building a small home-like cottage, to house another 10 dogs at a time...we can save an additional 120 dogs per year! This structure would be built at our home address. The interior of the facility would emulate a real home setting...not kennel-like at all. The dogs would have a fenced in yard, heat and air conditioning. They would be smothered with love and affection and would be treated as family...just as our fosters always are. By having a home base for an additional 10 dogs, in conjunction with continuing to utilize our loyal foster families...together we can save SO many more.
We are hoping to raise $25,000 to build this foster dog dream house. In addition to monetary donations, we are looking for volunteers to help build and/or donate their time and skills for this project. Depending on the funds raised, we will choose the best design to get the most bang for our buck and make it as home-like and cozy as possible.Thank you for your support in helping these deserving dogs!
