As a parent, we celebrate our children’s successes, and we cry when they are challenged. Well, for the past nearly 12 years I’ve done a lot of crying as my son Steve Griegelis has been fighting stage four kidney cancer. In 2004, we were told Steve had weeks, at best, to live. By the grace of God, and the talents of his medical team, he continues to fight the good fight against this ugly disease. He is currently participating in a clinical trial at the University of Michigan.

The toll it has taken on him and his family has been one of the hardest things to deal with, and yes, had caused many tears. It has cost him his life savings, his job, his credit rating, and his dignity. I come to you today pleading for help!

He and his family have had to move three times due to unscrupulous land lords. Their current landlord is trying to sell and has offered an opportunity for them to purchase the house. I am trying to raise funds for the minimum down payment. The goal is really just trying to provide a stable environment for Steve, his wife and their children, while they continue this battle. Due to the massive bills accumulated and the lack of credit, their options are limited. This opportunity to provide some stability and keep the children in the same school and church would go a long way to helping them recover. It will ultimately lower their cost of living as well moving forward. A win-win situation for all.

As difficult as it is to see your children struggle, it’s even more difficult asking strangers for help. But that is where life has led me and that is what I’m doing. Every little bit will help reach our goal. I appreciate your taking the time to read this and I thank you in advance for your prayers and generosity.
