Save Dogs from Arman Zoo

See below for 8/21/2016 update!

Dogs aren't zoo animals, right? This isn't the case in Bahrain, a small island off the coast of Saudi Arabia. In a country where animal rights exist only on paper and slaughtering, stabbing, and beating stray animals without any response from authorities is commonplace, I came across Arman Zoo, a privately-run zoo open to the public for a small fee. Dogs and cats are put in exhibits in 100 + temperatures with limited access to water and some are so skinny their bones are bulging out of their bodies. Dogs and cats are not vaccinated or neutered and are suffering from many ailments and conditions. The zoo has allowed me to put all cats and some dogs up for adoption as they "have no use for them." They are trying to use dogs that they are keeping like breeding machines, but the conditions at the zoo do not allow for healthy breeding and so the zoo is largely unsuccessful in breeding the remaining animals. I've chosen to focus on the dogs first as many cats (there are more than 20) are missing fur, have ringworm, ear mites, and upper respiratory infections (conditions that would, until taken care of, make them largely unadoptable to the average adopter).

Out of the ten dogs currently up for adoption, I have only found a home for one small white dog, now named "Yuki".

His new owner has discovered bite marks, ticks, and bruises on its small body along with rotting teeth and a severe anxiety problem.

I've reached out to many vets in Bahrain to see if they'll help treat the dogs, vaccinate, and spay/neuter them. The BSPCA's catch neuter release program will not cover spay and neuter costs for these animals. The least expensive quote I've received from other vets is: $80 for neutering, $106 for spaying, and $10-15 for vaccinations per dog. Please consider donating to cover the costs of spaying, neutering, vaccinations, and unexpected ailments/illness for the dogs pictured on this page! Any extra money raised will go to neutering/spaying and vaccinating cats. In addition, if you know anyone or any organization interested in finding these dogs homes, please contact me. They're all very sweet and friendly.

UPDATE 8/21/2016:
Hello, everyone! Thank you so much for your continued support. Today, I increased the gofundme goal by $4000 in order to neuter, vet and send the Saluki from the zoo, Zafaran, who has been waiting in a kennel to come to the states, the German Shepherd with hip dysplasia, who is still suffering in the zoo, and another 1-2 doggies still suffering in the zoo to the states.  German Sheperd with Hip Dysplasia
Saluki, "Zafaran", who is waiting in a kennel to be sent to the states. He had a severe case of colitis from worms, tick fever, and was very underweight and malnourished, which have been treated.

So far, 14 zoo doggies have been vetted and sent to the states (funded by private donations). Out of the 14, only four, who I'm currently fostering, are still up for adoption in the Fort Lauderdale area: Francesca, Catalina, Graciela, and Esperanza. Another 4 zoo doggies were vetted and adopted in Bahrain and are doing well. All of the doggies (except for Graciela and Esperanza who will go in this week) have been spayed and neutered. All 24 cats have been rescued from the zoo and vetted. Six cats are still up for adoption and sadly Ginger passed away from injuries and conditions directly caused by the mistreatment and abuse he experienced at Arman Zoo.
