Porthos medical bill

Donation protected
Born in my wife's closet many years ago with his brother and sisters is our Porthos kitty. We have taken in feral cats into our home for many years, and solcializing them until they are ready to find new homes. Several years ago we brought in Macy, who was a friendly little stray and very pregnant. She gave birth to a litter of kittens two days later. After the kittens were ready to leave their mommy, we worked hard to find each of them a loving home except Porthos. His personality was unlike all his other siblings, and his attachment to us was far too strong. He had found the people he wanted. He has been a wonderful companion filling our hearts with joy, but recently he hasn't been acting like his usual self and this morning we found him on the floor completely uninterested in food, treats, attention and yowling when we tried to move him. We rushed him to the vet. She found he had a blockage that was causing him to be unable to urinate. The vet then performed emergency treatment and he is now stabilized. Our Porthos was diagnosed with diabetes and will now need insulin shots for the rest of his life. We are not well off by any means, but we will manage. The bill from the vet is very high and although we have a great relationship with her and she does everything she can to help us out, the emergency treatments have come to 2500 dollars that we simply do not have. I'm a mechanic and my wife is a artist. We both work very hard, but with her student loans and our own household expenses leaves very little for savings. Any help would mean the world to us as Porthos isn't just a pet he is part of our family.
