Adam Hilarie "Aka Boobie"

To the family of Adam Hilarie- So, so, sorry & praying for you. I would like to make a sizable donation to Adams' daughter; - this page though, with good intention, was set up poorly. I'm on the other side of the country , I don't know Adam Hilarie, I read this horrific story in the news and saw his sweet, precious , baby girl on the news. I came to Go Fund Me and searched his name, I checked his Facebook (sadly, it's not been updated) and left a message hoping someone will see it and message me. So I finally found this page and I only recognized it because of the photos from the news and a link from Inside Edition. Yes, I find this page that says "Boobies Life Matters" and "a young man was shot in his apartment" (created by Jennifer Meyer whom, I'm sure, means well) but many of us (strangers) who didn't have the privilege of knowing Adam Hilarie or his lovely daughter and who learned of his horrific, tragic story through news services and were compelled to donate because of that story, go & click on this sight and see names like "Boobie" & Jennifer Meyer (who makes no mention of her relationship to someone she's seeking donations for) I, as well as my friends are hesitant/skeptical, to donate. This young man's story needs to be told - he's not an "anonymous" young man who was shot in his apartment - hell, people get shot here every day where I live but I don't go online and search for their family to donate money! People like me get outraged at senseless loss of young lives, the loss they leave behind! This wasn't 'some' guy shot in his apartment (that could be for many illicit reasons) this seemed like a nice young man/father, taking someone (sociopath) on a proper date - tell his story! Let people who read his story want and feel the need to donate to his grieving family and the unexpected expenses they are burdened with! Tell us the name of that beautiful little girl we cried seeing on the news who is already unable to comprehend that some B left her fatherless! Please, someone, set up a proper Go Fund me under the name in the news Adam Hilarie and the real story, so that people like me can easily donate and believe it is going to his family! Forgive my rant, but just yesterday on Judge Judy people were in court over improper fundraisers & Go Fund Me accounts (3) set up by non family members of a young boy who had cancer - Judge Judy was pissed and smelled a scam! I just want to make sure baby girl gets the funds I and my friends have been collecting. To all of Adams' family, friends & baby girl, I feel your pain & outrage - May justice be harsh & swift and may God keep you in His love!

Christiana, I don't know who you are and neither does my family. For you to say this is a fraud is quite upsetting. It doesn't seem like you have done any investigating of this account. This is a real legitimate account. I am Adam's oldest brother. We know about this GoFundMe and it has been approved by our family for Jennifer to administrate it. This is not a fraud. What I wrote earlier was b/c when I first read the news story & wanted to donate I could not find the GFM a/c under Adam Hilarie (the name in the news). I eventually found a link on Inside Edition to donate. Jennifer set up the fund under "Boobies life matters - the name his friends called him. She originally set up the page for family & friends that knew him and as she explains above, after this received National news and people like myself were questioning why it wasn't listed under Adam, she changed it so that people touched by his story, this tragedy would easily find this site. My letter was written for the sole purpose to inform her that people would have an easier time being directed here b/c it took myself & my friends some time to find it. I did not accuse her of a 'scam', I mentioned she should let people know her relationship. You are wrong for bashing someone you know nothing about, you are wrong to insinuate that b/c the funeral isn't being held right away it's a scam. Family members are in shock, some may have to travel - there are many reasons - none of which are the business of any of us. Donate or not ,but to continue to bash & leave nasty messages when you are ill informed of the situation gives me the the impression that you are a callous troll!

This is really sad and disturbing. For $50 she facilitated talking a 5 year old's dad in an arbitrarily armed robbery set up after fooling him with one fake date. She made a big difference in someone's world for $50. Let us in turn make a small difference in the world by donating $50 each to this poor guy's gofundme campaign and to assist his daughter who has lost her daddy and only breadwinner. If enough of us do so, it could make a big difference for her future. The gofundme link is at the end of the article. You mentioned Whitney Houston being buried in 8 days and family members giving children $10 on Christmas, but what is your point?? Next time before you decide to be NEGATIVE NANCY, read a book or utilize google because you arguments lacks structure and facts. BTW- my grandmother was buried 16 days after she passed and not because the family couldn't afford it, but because everyone was in Jamaica celebrating Jamaican Independence as they do every year. So get some facts and have several seats!!!

She is such a GORGEOUS girl and looks exactly like her father. I am sssooo sorry for your loss and my daughter and I will keep your family in your prayers. I have shared the go fund me to my Facebook. I found it while reading a new article that lead to another and another eventually leading it here. I will donate as soon as I can. It's truly sickening that someone can't even attempt to date without being the victim of a horrific crime!! This is the third time I have read a news article of someone so young with so much life left in them being murdered via meeting a date on pof. I truly hope they get the same punishment. I agree with Susan Powers. I don't want to donate to a name that has never been mentioned in the news. It is also poorly worded, loaded with misspellings and has no mentions of what will be done with the money besides that it will go the family and the little girl. Family members often get greedy at times of grief when money is involved. Family could be a 3rd cousin who gives the child $10 every Christmas. Technically, the statement would be true. But, I highly doubt anyone donating wants that to happen. If you indeed are her family, you would be best setting up a trust that is only accessible to her and a lawyer (meaning you, Jenifer have zero access to - something tells me by the way you hastily drafted your pleas, that you have no intention of the daughter ever seeing any money raised for her). I want to donate, but I refuse to donate a penny until I know who you are and why you are so ardently seeking money on her behalf. Her own mother, grandparents, immediate family, aunts, uncles are not. Who exactly are you?

Cristiana Crespo while I totally understand your desire to know how donations will be spent. I do not understand how you know what type of funding Adam's family received? Go fund me has not been given adequate time to complete an investigation. You haven't been in contact with any of Adam's family. So once again how did you come to this conclusion? It's not uncommon for friends or family to set up Go Fund Me campaigns in benefit of a loved one. Given the circumstances surrounding this tragedy we (Adam's family and friends) are still in shock, scrambling to help in any way possible. Jennifer Meyer was recently interviewed by Us Weekly. She is also involved in several local fundraisers. While this information may not be readily available to you. Several members of Adam's immediate family have also been interviewed. So finding them online should not be very difficult. If you still feel Jennifer might be defrauding Adam's family, why not reach out to them like a concerned citizen instead of spreading false statements. It is totally plausible for a funeral to be held 2 weeks after someone has passed. Even though the suspects were apprehended, an investigation still needed to be conducted. Out of respect for Adam's loved one's I'm not going into details on this subject. Although an extreme example, Michael Jackson passed away in June, wasn't buried till September. This gofundme is very much real and Jennifer Meyer is very much family to Adam and his daughter. Regardless if "YOU" think it was written poorly is irrelevant this is not an essay contest and as you can see that's not been and issue for multitudes of people . If you don't want to donate then dont. His family will see every dime I can garentee that! Just look at her facebook! Do some research before you judge people during a very difficult time that are doing their best to make sure he is laid to rest etc #RIPBOOBIE .

BTW - I am sharing this. As a big sham! Who has a funeral over 2 full weeks after a death?! Formaldehyde and other chemicals only hold for so long. Even world famous people have a funeral within a week of their death. Morgues and funeral homes won't hold bodies that long. Whitney Houston was beloved for decades all over the Earth and she was set to rest about 8 days after she passed. The person hosting this page is trolling for money. Name one person in history this age or even BC who took more than two weeks from death to burial. This is a scam.

Khaila Williams, I looked up your gofundme page and while I'm sorry for your struggle and admire your tenacity in pursuing an education with the chips stacked against you-there is ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON AT ALL. This man lost his life, this baby lost her father; and you're on here nothing because your site only got $10?! How self absorbed and selfish can you get? Stop trying to attract people to your page with your disgusting comment because it will only draw hate, not donations. As it should, since your comment was pure hate. People like this Crespo character need to be ignored - this page was not set-up for the negativity. The huge outport of support from strangers near and far is obviously greatly appreciated. Justice-Royster lady ... if you took 45 seconds to think about more than just a funeral, but also consider the future care and well-being for LaJaya, you would have probably understood that the increase may be realtors to setting up a college fund, helping pay for the baby girl's day to day needs, including helping her mother/relatives pay the rent/mortgage for the home in which she lives - she already lost her father, her lifestyle shouldn't have to dramatically change as well. If people want to help make that happen, then let that be their business. But don't spend your days negatively trolling this page seeking ignorant updates. To Bobbie's family: when I first read about this tragic day in the paper, my heart sank. "how aweful" is what I thought. Cristiana, when people don't have insurance to pay for burial, they typically have to wait longer to hold the funeral so that it may be paid for. It's not a matter of the body not being able to withstand a lengthy wait until the funeral; that's why they use chemicals and REFRIGERATE THE BODY until they can have proper services. People have been in a morgue for a long time waiting because of situations like this. Do some research.

Rest in peace to the young man. May God bless and protect the baby girl, and bring healing to the hearts of the family.

So so sorry for your loss. I can't begin to imagine what all of you are going through but my heart just breaks especially for his precious little girl. My thoughts and prayers will continually be with all of you. I did not know him but I do know what was done to him is incomprehensible and I pray those who are guilty are prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
