Marco's Medical Fund

My husband Marco has been sick since January 2016.  After a couple of hospital trips to Gatineau they could not figure out what exactly was wrong with him.  Based on all the blood tests that were done in Gatineau.  We knew that we were dealing with a type of blood cancer.  We asked to be transfered to Hopital Maisonneuve-Rosemont in Montreal as they specialize in Cancer.  After a couple of trips we had an official diagnose of Myelodysplastic Syndrome which can transform into Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  After a total of 4 bone marrow biopsies (9 pieces of bone removed) we were informed at the end of June his disease had transformed into Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  He was hopsitalized for 38 days for treatment.  His lastest bone marrow biopsy done last week which we received news yesterday that he is in remission.   We were also told that he needs to continue with chemo treatments to keep him in remission but it will be external and we need to travel 3 times a week from Gatineau to Montreal for him to have it.  

I am trying to raise money to help cover the additional costs of travelling to and from the hospital as well as the added prescription costs.  I am a stay at home mom who is taking care of Marco as well as raising our twin boys who are only 2 years old.  We are on a limited budget and do not have the added monies to cover the additional trips and expenses that are going to be incurred to go to and from Montreal but this is extremely important to not only Marco to remain in remission until they can do the cord blood transplant but also to his wife and kids.

Marco starts his external chemo treatments on Monday.
