Medical Expenses for Mahboob Shah

Many of you know Mahboob Shah as a selfless, kind, compassionate person who has dedicated his life to helping the poorest of the poor in Afghanistan. For the last 25 years, he has helped and served expats who came to Afghan to help his people. He was your driver, your fixer, your protector. He facilitated our work, solved our problems, and kept us laughing and safe, often in very dangerous places and circumstances, at great risk to his own life.

Now he is in need of our help. Recently, Mahboob developed a severe case of Diabetes and was hospitalized for over a month. When the capacity of the Afghan healthcare system could do no more, he was released and has had to go to India to receive further treatment. All this comes at great expense.

With the mass departure of the expat community, Mahboob has not been able to find regular employment and struggles to support his father, sister, wife and 5 children. He is the sole provider for his family and this illness has devastated them financially.

Through this page, I am raising the funds to help him pay for the hospital expenses, the expense of going to India and the medical expenses there and to keep his family afloat until he recovers.
