The Boone community and surrounding areas are devastated to learn of the fire that occurred Friday morning in Valle Crucis. This page as been established to relieve some of the financial burden for Don Cox, the owner of Bald Guy Brew Coffee Roasting Company. Please join us in showing support for this local business through sharing and donating what you can.Bald Guy is still working through the numbers, but he said "it is estimated that replacing his roasting equipment and van will total $100,000. All was lost except for the cargo bike and 3 lbs of roasted coffee".

Bald Guy is a pillar to the high country community as well as coffee roasting communities around the world. Bald Guy is committed to establishing long lasting relationships with coffee farms around the world by empowering coffee growing communities through ethically sourced coffee beans. He also co-leads study abroad programs for Appalalchian State University to Costa Rica in the hopes of teaching students about sustainable tourism, the social and cultural aspects of natural resource preservation and tourism development and consumption, and the importance of fair trade markets.

"Rooted in North Carolina's High Country, Bald Guy Brew has a mission to empower coffee growers, working directly with the hands that make your morning cup-o-don possible. Wow... Shame.... This was a families lively-hood. It takes nothing away from Macie or Marky. We can choose to help both and many will. Go Fund Me is an open forum to assist anyone in need. Don has helped many around the world to advance their way of life. He is compassionate and kind and does not deserve your unkindness.

You know there were quite a few victims who have experienced loss in this very tragic fire and campaigns for the victims are not mutually exclusive. That is, donors are not restricted to donating only to one of the victims campaigns. As a donor, it sure would be nice to support these victims financially without being slammed or judged for doing so. I agree Pamela Downs Pickett some individuals posting comments for this campaign have been thoughtless and extremely disrespectful to donors.
