Support Jaeleen's Medical Expenses

Created by Jaeleen's Family and Friends. Any donation is tremendously appreciated:

Jaeleen was working in Detroit at the DTE at a concert. (This is one of her three jobs). She got out of work a little early and met up with one of her girlfriends. They went downtown to catch up and enjoy the evening. Her friend lives downtown and while they were out, the girls ran into other people her friend knows. They wanted to show Jaeleen the water, the bridge, and lights from Canada so they decided to  walk through Hart Plaza to reach the water. Jaeleen has never been here before and the path they took slowly went on an incline. It was not noticeable at night, nor were the lights working in this area. Jaeleen turned around to speak to her friend and took a step backwards.  Without a warning and without a railing, the edge droped straight down. Jaeleen fell 30 feet onto the concrete below.  She is a miracle, a survivor and a fighter. Jaeleen was caught by angels and God that night!

Her injuries include fractures of 4 vertebrae (C-5 and T1-3) her tail bone, sacrum, pelvis, and left elbow, as well as a closed head injury. She also double fractured her left wrist and it was an open break.  She has now had 2 surgeries on her left wrist with a 3rd being planned for the future. Jaeleen has spent over a week in the hospital and has been in a rehabilitation center for about 3 weeks. Unfortunately, the road to recovery has just begun! No one knows exactly how long she will continue to stay in the rehabailitation center.  She has been working very hard to gain her strength back and regain the ability to walk.  Due to the pelvic, tail bone, and sacrum fractures, this has been a huge hurdle!

Jaeleen, as well as her family could really use any support they can get.  The medical bills are piling up, and her normal bills (rent, car payment, etc.) are becoming more than she can bare, due to her being off of work.  In addition, Jaeleen is in her last year at Saginaw Valley State University where she will graduate with 2 bachelors degrees.  She is hoping to return to school (Dr. permitting) in the fall.  Jaeleen would need assistance to and from school as well as a power chair to get around campus.

Jaeleen currently holds the title for Miss Bridge Fest and has huge aspirations of getting on stage to give up her title on October 2nd to the new title holder.  During her rein, she has spent a year putting in counless hours of volunteer work through the Miss America Organization, has raised awareness and money for Wigs for Kids, and has placed in the top 10 at Miss Michigan. In the last year she has also guest appeared on  Chicago PD and has been striving to get her piece of legislation passed in the  House of Representatives.  Her bill will provide insurance coverage of hairpieces for children in michigan.  Jaeleen is such a kind soul who has given so much to so many people, right now she could benefit from the same kindness!

Jaeleen does hope to go back to work (dr. permitting) in February after she recovers from a 3rd surgery on her left wrist.  Jaeleen and her family greatly appreciates the help that anyone is able to provide during this tough time!
