Lakes for Lupus
Spende geschützt
On. August 29th, 2016, I, along with my daughter Regan, and nieces Janelle and Josie, embarked on a unique one-day trip, to raise money for Lupus Ontario and The Huntington Society of Canada.
Lupus ended the lives of my brothers Ken and Mike much too soon. Our extended family, the Groots, are affected by Huntington Disease.
So, as we celebrated a day that marks years of life and good health, we tried to do a little good for those who struggle daily with health issues related to these 2 diseases.
Our lake swims began at Lake Superior at 6:30 am, and concluded in Lake Huron at Grand Bend at 10:15 pm. Both sides of Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Lakes Erie and Ontario were part of the day, with videography included.
The lakes were significant to us because Mike spent a lot of time with his kids at the beaches of Lake Huron and Ken worked at Sifto Salt Mines, deep underneath Lake Huron and enjoyed time on the water with his boat.
Please show your support for our birthday lake swim by donating to the page. Funds raised will be split between Lupus Ontario and The Huntington Society of Canada.
Thanks for helping raise money and helping raise awareness about these devastating diseases.
