Marsha Marie Wetzel

Hello, my name is Lauren Hammonds and I was moved by this video of Marsha Wetzel to set up this gofundme page in her behalf and in loving memory of her partner Judy Kann. I recently lost my own mother and she died in a county state subsidized retirement facility which offered minimal care and her voice wasn't heard.

There must be change regarding LGBT seniors being abused in retirement and nursing homes across this country. Marsha has taken a stand against the harsh treatment she has endured at Glen St Andrews Living Community in Niles, IL., and I am hoping we all can help her financially and this cause by contributing anything you can spare. There will soon be thousands of LGBT baby boomers finding themselves in similar situation if we don't act now.

My wife JoJo Hammond and I have vowed to make LGBT retirement safe for as many as we can. We will start here by helping Marsha and move forward to help other seniors in harmful and abusive living situations. Our goal will be to change hateful mindsets, set up hotlines, promote advocacy and possibly create future LGBT senior centers. We are two middle age self employed ambitious women.
