Caroline Dorton Firefighter
Caroline Dorton is a Firefighter Paramedic that was recently run over while trying to help the victim of a deadly assault. She was off duty at the time of the incident. FF Dorton was out to dinner with her boyfriend, when the cries for help came through the restaurant. Firefighter Paramedic Dorton without regards for herself, did what she does, and ran to help. Another customer of the restaurant also ran to help. As Caroline and the other person rendered care for the victim, the attacker, while fleeing the scene ran the victim, FF Dorton, and the other care giver over with a vehicle. Dorton is believed to have taken the brunt of the hit. Caroline a mother of three, 2 girls and 1 son, has been a firefighter paramedic with the Orange City Fire Department since 2009. Prior to joining the Orange City Fire Department Caroline was a volunteer firefighter with the Volusia County Fire Department. Caroline is also a CPR instructor with Daytona State College. Helping others is what Caroline loves to do. She is a kind thoughtful loving person, who treats everyone with the utmost respect. She is obviously a person that would do everything in her power to help someone in need, stranger or friend, on or off duty. Firefighter Paramedic Dorton sustained serious injuries during the event, and will be on a long road to recovery. She will have extensive medical bills, along with her normal day to day expenses, mortgage, food, child care, etc. Caroline and her family need our help.
