Help Alexander Stay In Nepal

Donation protected
Dearest friends, I have been staying here in Nepal on a tourist visa since the end of March 2016 when i returned here for my third visit full of excitement and enthusiasm to help in some way after the devestating earthquakes which shook Nepal in April 2015. I was also here at that time when the earthquakes came and had stayed to help out for some weeks after before getting evacuated back to Europe after getting really sick after the second major quake in May 2015.
Since being in Nepal this time I have been working hard on projects helping vulnerable children. Firstly I'm a musician who learned to sing songs in Nepalese. I fell in love with this beautiful country after first visiting in 2012 when I learned my first song in Nepalese 'Maya Meri Maya' by Sanjay Shrestha. Things have really come full circle since that time. I believe Nepal has helped to heal me from a hopeless state of being into the person I am today. Happy confident and doing useful and worthwhile things in the world. When I was first in Nepal four years ago I was a different man. I had a lot to learn, Nepalese culture has helped me to become someone who i value and love. Its been a process of change and now I feel happy to tell you that Ive never felt better in my life. I live a humble lifestyle I practice Yoga and Meditiation (Vipasana) which I learned here in Nepal in May I completed my second 10 day course here in Kathmandu Valley itself. Nepal has helped me to grow in so many ways as a person and I feel like a Nepalese !! I eat Dal Bhat (My favorite food) and I now can sing at least 9 songs in Nepalese with guitar in a folk rock style. I have a musician page on Facebook called Alex Nepali and I have been singing all over the Kathmandu Valley songs in Nepalese and Hindi and collecting donations which i have then used to help people. Actually at least half of the money which I collect when singing goes to good causes. In my short time in Nepal I have been able to help lots of people. I have been very active actually there are too many things to list here as I havent been working for any one project in particular. We did a film shoot busking for Street Children where we collected around 10000rs and bought some of the children clothes food and got them cleaned up. I spend time with some of these guys and occasionally I buy them Dal Bhat when they are hungry. I also did some busking for Orphans and I have worked with various organisations rasing money to get them basic supplies such as educational items, food and clothes.
More recently I have been focussed on one project Laxmis Lovely home which is a foster home that adopts the most vulnerable children and gives them a new start in life. I believe in the healing power of the arts so I have managed to buy all the ten plus children art books, stationary items, three months supply of rice and daal and many household items and also 1 guitar and i managed to pay the education fees for one of the new girls for her first 3 months in school. This particular girl was rescued from her village after it was discovered that both she and her sister were at very high risk of being sold into sex slavery in India after the father was released from prison. Now both girls are at Laxmis home and in school. I have seen with my own eyes the effect laxmis work is having in the community and after having visited many institutions I feel sure that this project is really helping as a frontline service which cares for children who have no other option. I feel proud that i have been able to help, visiting regularly and giving art and music workshops with the children.
But this gofund is not about getting money for children directly this is about helping me to stay in Nepal.
I have been offered a volunteer work position with Green Soliders Kathmandu who have offered to provide me a buisness visa. Green soliders are a local NGO based here in Kathmandu. Their mission is to clean the city of garbage and find new and creative ways of recycling the trash. In collaboration with Artmandu an artists hub and cafe we go early every saturday morning to clean Sweyembunath of all the plastic which is then used in creative ways making floor mats and all kinds of things which are made from the recycled trash. In the longer term the plan is to build with the plastic in a compressed form. The material is soundproof and earthquake proof. It is the dream of green soliders to build an exemplar eco village with all the trash collected from the Kathmandu Valley. Plans are now well under way for January 22nd when Green Soliders are organising One Million people to clean all the waste plastic from Kathmandu to be reused and recycled as an artform as an example of whats possible. Its an exciting project and I feel honored to be involved.
Green soliders have helped me to actualise things important to me such as collaboration of projects. The whole while these last years ive been working on a project/concept called Give TV ... Give TV is all about sharing and collaboration between projects. The idea is to eventually build a website that allows people to time/skill share with each other. Right now we are still in the early stages of setting this thing up but already we have made big strides forwards with this project which is ALL about collaboration and learning to work together how one person or project can benefit another and vice versa. now there is a facebook group and fan page you can find it and join :) www.give.tv .I could write almost endlessly about my vision for this new project but the point here in this crowd fund is to explain how a green soliders working visa will help me to acheive the things which are important to me and for Nepal. I want to help Nepal. I feel its like a duty. I love this amazing country with all my heart and as an artist I want to continue to inspire and empower others through my art. Learning Nepalese language .. teaching English to disadvantaged children via music and writing new songs in Nepalese.
Now its an exciting time in my life .. Four projects have come together in the goal and ambition to organise a three day music art and sustainablitiy festival at the time of dashain festival. Working with green soliders my role will be to make this dream a reality raising money for different projects which help Nepal to rise again after the tragedy of the recent earthquakes. The idea is that the ticket price will be kept low so that all Nepalese will have chance to attend the event. We already have aproached several big bands of Nepal who have agreed to participate. Now we are looking for the suitable venue and there is a team working on this outcome. To do something great for Nepal. Uniting Love. Singing For Change.
Unfortunately my visa is up and if I dont get the new buisness visa then i will have to leave Nepal by the end of this month and so that is why I am making this Crowd Fund Appeal.
I need to raise $1500 in order to get the 1 year buisness visa. My plan is to stay in Nepal until mid November the only way i can do this is with your help.
Im a street busker ... I pay my way as i go day to day and I have chosen to live a minimalist lifestyle in this way, half of all the funds I've collected have gone towards helping vulnerable people in Nepal.
Now I need your help ! in order to complete my mission and help to do something really great for this wonderful country.
Thankyou so much in advance for your amazing support and belief in me.
Sending you all my love and hopeful positive energy. I believe in a world where we can begin to share more from our hearts.. Lets make it happen ... We are an open project .. for anyone who would like to get involved please contact me directly [email redacted] or join the group www.give.tv
