Thanks for helping us Bring Back the SMU Sail Team!
After years of bringing the sport of Sailing to the SMU campus, hosting regattas at White Rock Lake, participating in (and sometimes winning!) countless regattas across multiple states, and teaching untold numbers of SMU students how to sail, the Southern Methodist University Sailing Team has suffered a lapse in membership, causing it to lose its University charter.
Additionally, without an active membership, the sailboats purchased by the team have been sitting, unattended, at the Corinthian Sailing Club (CSC). Unfortunately, the space used by the sailboats isn't free, and the Team currently owes $2,000 to CSC, in addition to the cost of renewing & maintaining our membership.
Without your help, the SMU Sailing Team will cease to exist, and before October 2016, the team will be forced to forfeit their boats, sails, and equipment.
If you are a past member of the Sailing Team, a member of the SMU community, or a fan of the sport of sailing, we need your help.
