Our daughter, sister, teammate and friend Elizabeth Joy Catoe went home to be with the Lord yesterday, July 31, 2016. She suffered traumatic brain injuries from a car accident.

At 19 years old Liz was not only a college basketball athlete, but a loyal friend, devoted sibling, the most adoring Aunt, die-hard Redskins and Terps fan, passionate candy lover, a dream chaser, protector of the truth, and a fierce follower of Christ.

To lose someone so young rips your heart out, but when it's someone that you love so deeply, that's a pain that words can't describe. We are grieving, but not without a grounding hope and love for our Savior, whom Liz also intensely adores.

So many of you have been praying desperately and flooding us with offers to serve our family. We have been riding on the wings of those prayers. Thank you.

Continued prayers are appreciated, and in response to people’s inquiries of how they can help we have set up this GoFundMe to help offset the unexpected funeral costs. I, Kristen Catoe (the campaign organizer), am Elizabeth Joy Catoe's sister-in-law. Elizabeth passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 19 years old due to a car accident. I have run this campaign to help offset the funeral costs for our family.
