Liver Transplant

This is Marita. Daniel's girlfriend.
As many of you know, Daniel is in the hospital again. It's pretty serious this time. He came to the hospital septic (aka blood poisoning) from an infection. This is miraculously getting under control, and his white blood cell count is almost back to normal. His health is in very critical condition. For the time being, he has chosen to keep fighting this disease while there is a chance he can get healthy enough to survive a potential re-transplant.
We are looking into long term care facilities for him to go to upon hospital release where he can focus on trying to gain weight and doing some physical therapy. Unfortunately, there are no places close to home that can take him with all of his needs.
My employers and co-workers are amazing and have given me the flexibility to be off work for as long as I need so be by his side. I will be going with him to wherever he is placed to support him.
I want to thank everyone that has helped us, and those of you that continue to help. We couldn't do this without your support. We need all the help we can get.

Hi, my name is Daniel. I live in Columbia, Mo.  I had a liver transplant in October.  Due to rare complications, i am very sick again. I am hoping to get healthy enough to be considered for another transplant. My insurance will take care of some of the hospital bill but It's going to be over $250,000. The problem I have run into is that I have to constantly drive from here to Kansas to see my doctor. The price of living and gas has really taken it out of us, I can't work right now so Marita has to take care of most the bills. I need help as soon as possible. I have to see my doctor.  frequently, staying for days. This means the world to me because I love my life and the people around me. I want to grow and learn just like anyone else. I am not the kind of person that has  ever asked for much help. I have had to come to terms that, other than doing what the doctor. tells me, it's pretty much out of my hands. Any little bit helps, even if your just helping with lunch on the road. The only way that I can so how thankful I am is giving you the knowledge that you helped a fellow person live out a great and fulfilled life. Plus, I really want to get a higher education and help others going through similar problems. Plus, Boogie needs her papa around.
