From Kimmee:
Briley update :
This little girl wants to dance.
Without giving too much info yet and without being overly optimistic, Briley has attempted multiple times to get up out of bed over night. They went up on meds and she was still trying to get up. We haven't seen the doc yet and of course it's way too early but who knows what today might hold! Even if she were to wake up today, I know we have a long way to go but again we are celebrating each little win and each little step forward.

Kayla update : she hasn't rested much because she just had to stay up here with sister... She didn't want to leave her and you all know it isn't comfortable to pile up in a hospital room.

We have had multiple media outlets trying to check in and see how things are going. She keeps joking that she isn't talking to anyone but Ellen and she wants her tooth fixed before she does anything else. By else I mean, she let her class at Highland call and do FaceTime with her yesterday before she was discharged ... She lit up like a Christmas tree when she saw everyone and you could hear the cheers from the kids over the phone. She was so excited but she kinda tried to hide the smile a bit.
She still looks gorgeous to me and her smile, although a little different is much more beautiful and much more sweet. I am sure you understand.

Thanks again for the calls and prayers and love!!!! You all are amazing.

From the girls' mother, Kimmee Reynolds:

Ok. The update you've all been waiting for.

Kayla is doing ok. I want to say she's great but she's having lots of pain and she's frustrated. Her arm had a bad break. They have her in a cast type thing that is super heavy and she's on pain meds and still on IV and things. She isn't resting well and she's uncomfortable right now. But She's able to talk and smile and paint and do sand art and play on the iPad. She has been spoiled rotten here at Niswonger. The staff have been so great to her. All she is worried about is her sister. She says she feels so bad for Briley. This girl hit the ground and was still trying to take care of me and her sister... She is also concerned that the broken tooth is going to interfere with her musical.ly making, but she still claims it isn't too bad broken and it doesn't look THAT bad. ❤️ my optimistic little sunshine.

Briley has a concussion. She has a small brain bleed. She had seizures while in route to Niswongers. She is not currently breathing on her own. She is on a vent but she is fighting. She's trying to breathe over it, but earlier when they tried to remove the tubes and all she couldn't do it. Her tongue kept rolling back and it wouldn't let her. She did respond to PT earlier when they cut back some of her meds. She responded to Tierra's voice well and some of the other family members.. By moving feet... Trying to squeeze hands etc. so she's there. I know she's in there and I know she hears us. She doesn't have good control of her right hand and wrist yet but we are thinking it will improve.
She is still in critical condition. She has swelling .. Her face looks just pitiful. Her mouth... Jaws etc. She kept spiking a fever and they couldn't figure out why so they have been trying to do some labs. The first day they were unable to draw blood to see why she has the fever. Her tiny veins would not cooperate. Yesterday after an hour of attempts they finally got it. Her blood gases were good which was what led them to believe they could pull the tubes early... But it didn't work out. She did show some infection or bacteria growth with the blood work so they're treating her for pneumonia as well. When they reinserted her chest tube this time, they knocked out a permanent tooth. The doctor was so upset. They called in a dentist and they're trying to preserve the tooth to be able to put it back in, in a few days but if not, they're gonna make her one.

Now it's a waiting game. Let her stay on the meds to keep her sedated and unaware and not in pain to heal more. They said they won't be in such a hurry to wean her again. They wanna give her more time and as much as I want her alert and dancing and being feisty... I want her to rest and feel better. One minute at a time. She has an amazing TEAM of doctors and nurses and I am truly confident in their ability. I am grateful that I got to hear her scream out today. Just a "ahhhh" one time but it was so good to hear her voice.

This hospital is amazing. The staff. The doctors. The nurses. All of them. The CEO. The Marketing director. Even Scott Niswonger. The facility is wonderful and very accommodating. They do everything they can to be of service. We are grateful that they brought us here.

I feel the need to make this statement. I was angry with some earlier reports. I said some things out of anger and now I need to say this. To Tim Davis, I forgive you. I know it was an optimistic outlook based on misinformation and I forgive you. I think he handled the Nancy Grace interview much better and I appreciate that. I'm not out to bash anyone. I just don't want the lies, speculation and rumors. I am a mom. This is about my babies and another young lady and their health and well being.

I will also say that Niswonger handled their interview beautifully as well. They've all been so supportive. You all would not believe the media frenzy. Inside Edition hit up a friend of mine... CNN called ... The department of workforce and labor... Every local news outlet from Bristol to Knoxville, ETC.

I don't know what will come of all of this. I'm not strong right now. I am completely exhausted. I woke up at 4am on Monday and I've slept maybe a little over an hour since then.

I know some things need to change. I know that we have a long road ahead of us. I'm probably leaving out things and I'm leaving out people ... We have met so many.

Again.. Over 500 messages ... Thousands of comments. Hundreds upon hundreds of friend requests...We have had texts.. Calls.. Visitors ... The outpouring of support has been tremendous and I thank you all so very much. I am so blessed with good family and friends. I have tried to reply to as many as I can but y'all it's hard. Please don't be upset if I can't get to you right now. I plan to make it up to you all someday, some way, somehow.

Also please don't rip my post to shreds if my grammar is off or my punctuation isn't on point. Haha.

Hug your babies. Hug your mommas. Shoot, hug someone and spread love. I'm gonna sleep for a little bit I Think. Goodnight.
