Send Katy Tur on Vacation

Just like most Americans (and a lof the rest of the world) we're watching this election with a mixture of shock, fear, trepidation, disgust, and shame. To see the mud being slung is unprecedented: never seen in my lifetime, in most of ours. It's not inuendo, it's outright slanderous.
But at least we get to watch from our living rooms. Reporter Katy Tur has to face it every day from the battlefield, from the trenches. She gets cursed, threatened, spit on, and has to go back and do it again the next day. It got so bad one time she needed to be escorted from the venue to her car by the Secret Service. We believe she deserves a vacation when this nightmare is over. We are raising money to send her on one, hopefully at least enough for a weekend away, a long, relaxing weekend. Glass of wine (or three?), good steak dinner, creme brulee with rasberries for dessert (am I projecting?). Maybe a show. Of the good kind.
Can we do this? Can we give Katy a break?

3. My relationship to the parties you're raising funds for - I have no relationship to Katy Tur, except I am a news consumer, as most Americans are, and most of the world is, following this campaign towards the White House.
4. How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible) - - - Ms. Tur will be spending the funds as she sees fit, on decompressing from this ptsd-inducing churning wringer that the press is being subjected to on a daily basis.
5. How I intend to get the funds to those in need - As we get closer to the funding date 11.9, I will be contacting NBC, and her agent, to discuss disbursment of the funds.

Thank you. This is hilarious and hugely flattering. I do need a vacation.
Soon.
But this money shouldn't go to my post election margarita fund. I have a solid job and supportive network behind me. If you wouldn't mind, I would be honored if you could forward this money to the Rory Peck Fund.
It supports journalists who do not have an influential news network behind them. They are reporters who go to war zones and hostile environments as freelancers. Or reporters who live in countries where freedom of the press does not exist. They risk their lives to keep us informed. The Rory Peck fund helps keep them and their families protected.
Thank you to everyone for watching, caring, and fighting for us!! (Also thank you for reminding me that a beach and a cold drink are on the horizon)
