Amazing Grace's Veterinary Bills

5 year old Grace was found after surviving two months in the backcountry of the Absaroka- Beartooth Wilderness on her own. She is believed to have been injured crossing the Stillwater River, and was left by her owner to go find help. He did not survive, and the horse was presumed dead. This amazing animal was found, alive but badly injured and thin, and rescued by Cooke City residents.

Grace will require a long rehabilitation and probably some large veterinary bills to get her back to her highest level of functioning. We are not completely sure we can save her. Right now we are in contact with some of the leaders in equine surgery. Although we cannnot guarantee that we can save her, we CAN guarantee that without funding, this marvelous creature will have to be put down. She has had a tremendous impact on anyone who has come into contact her. Each vet who has had contact with Grace is astounded at her strength and fortitude. I believe she can change lives.
