Kindergarten room needs a library

Hello, my name is Marci Semeraro, and I am a first year teacher at Richmond City Schools. My school is in a high poverty level neighborhood, and students have nothing. For the majority of my current 17 Kindergartners (will most likely have more by end of school year), this will be their very first experience in a school setting. We have no reading chairs, regular books, and basic working supplies to start off school on September 6.
My goal is to raise $1100 in 2 weeks( or next several months), so I can have the room ready , and get needs into the first week of school. This money will also be used for this school year, and for my future school years to come!
That is the true picture of my library ( no fiction books:( , chairs, organizers, etc) Wordless books and picture books can add up, and I need all the help I can get!
My hope is that these students will have a safe place to learn and read. If we can get them in front of books everyday, their learning process will soar by leaps and bounds!
The main portion of donations will fill this up, and any left over I will get a chair for myself, pencils, markers, glue, scissors, an electric pencil sharpener,art and science supplies, hygiene products, organizers, and technology needs.
