UNITY Art Installation
Donation protected

My name is Jean Barnett. I am one of the art educators at Taylor High School, in Taylor, Texas. I have been lucky to be part of the THS family for 9 years. I love my job and I love my students. Go Ducks!!
I am raising money to help fund an art installation I would like my students to create. I saw a video on facebook about the Unity Project, and I thought that this was something my students needed to do--they needed to create this. http://www.unityproject.net/

In this time of uncertainty and a political atmosphere where some are trying to tear us apart, I want my students to see that they are not so different. That their lives are like others, no matter what their skin color, their religion, their sexual orientation. I want them to see how our lives are woven together. Creating this artwork will help them to see not only their lives, but the lives of their peers.
I have started this campaign because I am an artist, I am a teacher, and I think art can bridge so many gaps in our society. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will mean so much to me. I want to give everything I have to my students, but I can't always do it on my own...I am a teacher afterall. They say it takes a village...
The money raised will go directly to buying supplies to make this installation artwork a reality--poles, stakes, paint, and yarn.
Please consider opening your heart and your wallet so that my students can create a meaningful and hopefully unifying art installation.
