Love for Rachel

Here's Rachel story:

On June 27, 2016; Rachel fell and had a small scratch on her knee.  The next day it turned into a cluster and was red hot  to touch and she had a fever.  She was brought to a doctor who prescribed antibiotics x 4 times a day  for seven days.  While Rachel was on her antibiotics her knee began to clear up and all was good .

July 11th 2016 , she fell and skinned both her knees while at a local summer camp.  When Mike and Holly picked her up from camp that day, she was happy and never complained about her knees.  The next morning however Rachel woke up crying and in discomfort.  When Holly took the Band-Aid off to look more closely at Rachel's knee, she noticed  it was red and there was a small blister appearing.  Around 2 PM that same day, Rachel was now unable to walk on her leg and had developed a fever.  Her parents  took her back to emergency in Carleton Place and she was seen and prescribed  antibiotics  four times a day for 10 days. The next day (July 13th) the
" bubble"  blister on her knee had grown and now was the size of a tooney.

Rachel was brought back to Emergency where they drained the fluid out of her knee.  She began to walk but was still in considerable pain. A few people commented on how the colour of her skin was pale so they went back to the hospital and the Doctor said she was fine but drained more fluid from her knee.  Rachel  began to walk but was still in considerable discomfort and pain.

July 16th-23rd-  The family went away to a cottage for their holidays.  Rachel was  very clingy, napped a lot and was just not herself.  When the family was sitting at the picnic table to eat, Rachel fell off it (even though it was not far from the ground)  and she instantly bruised.  By the end of that week she seemed to be feeling a bit better and she was playing with her brother and cousins instead of sitting on mommy and daddy's lap.

Saturday, July 23th (The day before her 4th Birthday party),  Rachel spiked a fever again so Holly went to Shoppers to see if all of the symptoms were due to being on antibiotics for so long.  The pharmacist said to take her to CHEO  right away which they did.

Once at CHEO they didn't need to wait long and got in within the hour, Rachel  was hooked up to an IV and was having blood taken.  An hour after that Mike and Holly were told the worst news no parents want to hear.....  Their daughter Rachel Roy, who would be turning 4  years old that Wednesday (4 days away)  was being diagnosed with leukaemia.

Later that week they were told that she was being. diagnosed with ALL leukaemia (Acute_lymphoblastic_leukaemia) which is Cancer of the white blood cells. She has been at CHEO ever since with her family by her side.  Rachel's mom Holly is pregnant and is expecting her and Mike's third child and is due in October.  Rachel also has a big brother Owen who is five years old and is her best friend.  Her other best friend is her dog Bentley who she loves dearly.

Rachel is a very happy little girl who always has a smile on her face no matter what.  With no income at the moment, we are asking everyone to please donate what you can for this amazing family, as together they fight this unimaginable  battle.

Already over these past few days, she has had surgery for the bone marrow and her first round of chemo. Rachel has a long road to recovery and is already been such a strong tough girl. We are asking everyone to please send their love, support and well wishes.  Please keep Rachel and her family in your prayers❤️ All money raised and donated will go directly to Rachel and her family to help cover all of their expenses during this difficult time in their lives.

Keep  Fighting Rachel you got this ❤️
