Sean Collier's Project KX500

Donation protected
My name is Oscar Cota of KX Guru Racing and I have been tasked with building Sean's new KX500.  KX Guru Racing and its associates have been conducting R&D on the KX500 since its demise in 2004.  We have taken proven work from former factory Kawasaki KX500's that we have had in our possession, spoken to former KX500 factory mechanics and pick up the development where they left off.

Sean has been racing his current KX500, or the "Beast" as its better know, with enthusiasm and pride.  However the burden of maintaining a race machine is an expensive one and the full financial burden has fallen on Sean's plate.  Sean is supported by great organizations such as FASTHOUSE however Sean is still a true full Privateer paying out of his own pocket to race.  Sean has been handicapped by having to both practice and race on the "Beast" and this has taken a toll on the legendary machine.  The "Beast has not had the top end pulled or any other major maintenance performed on it since it was originally built.

This is where KX Guru Racing comes in.  We are putting together an effort to not only refresh the "Beast" but to build a second KX500.  The "Beast" will most likely become a practice bike and the KX500 we are building will become the new "Beast".  There are many KX500 enthusiasts out there who won't deny that the KX500 although great is still a design from the late 1980's.  KX Guru Racing has come up with a formula to have the best of the best put on this KX500 whether the equipment has to be adapted, modified or created from scratch.  In order to keep Sean Collier racing and winning against newer technology we have no choice but to make this next KX500 quantum leaps better than the first.  These contributions will help finance the high end equipment to be used, the labor required, the continuing R&D to keep the KX500 at the front of the pack ahead of the newer machines and give the original "Beast" a refresh.

We have already been approached by multiple racing publications who are interested in writing articles on the new KX500 and deals are currently being discussed for some of the exotic equipment to be used on this project.  Needless to say time is valuable and the clock is ticking.

I am a close friend of Sean, a KX500 enthusiast and a long time dirt bike rider.  I feel that Sean represents every "Average Joe" rider out there who rides for fun and dreams of racing.  Sean is able to do what many of us can't and that is hold down a 40+ hour a week job to support his family and still line up on any given weekend along the world's top racers and be competitive.  Sean does it for the same thrill we all would get going for a simple weekend ride.  All the while Sean remains humble, grounded and thankful that he gets to ride his KX500.  Sean is a racer at heart but nobody can deny that he is a true blue collar worker same as the rest of us.

With everyone's support we will go out there with the best KX500 we can build and win some races.  KX Guru Racing's intentions are to make the technology that will end up on Sean's new KX500 available to everyone and you will read all about the bike in upcoming magazines.  Thank you all in advance.
