Mojo & Hotshot's Rescue Journey

Donation protected
I know it's long but I beg you to read to the end!!!!!!!!

Most of you know that I have a huge heart when it comes to pretty much anything or anyone (human or animal) that is in need. I almost always put everything else first before myself & this time it's a little more than I can financially handle alone.

I'm asking for your help! Meet my two new, very sick geldings Mojo and Hotshot. I gave them tough guy names because they deserve it! The pictures don't even reveal the severity.

Mojo is a 17 year old sorrel gelding, about 15.2 hands --- he is such a loving, sweet boy!!! He tried so hard to be excited to see his freedom pasture but was to weak to move much. However, he is in much better shape than my other new friend.

Hotshot is a 20 year old sorrel gelding, about 15 hands, in very bad shape. He looks like a walking skeleton, lame, and cannot keep hay or alfalfa in his mouth. It just falls out. Despite his condition you can see the love in his pitifully caved in face. He has such kind eyes and demonstrated in his sickly way his appreciation as he entered his freedom pasture. I have full faith he will make a full recovery!

These boys still have many years to give their amazing service to children and deserve a forever family.

We rescued them from a truck ride to Mexico to be slaughtered. These boys have been with kids their whole life at a children's camp, but sadly the children's camp had to close it's doors. With no one to take them they were almost shipped to slaughter. We literally saved them with 2 hours to spare....

Where they actually came from today is not relevant, a kill pen is a kill pen. What is important is they are originally from a Kids Camp that closed their doors. They shut down for an unknown reason and theses horses ended up in a horrible situation. Starved. Dehydrated. Malnourished. Abandoned. Almost Dead.

After spending their life willingly giving their hearts to little kids at camp, I could not see them shipping to slaughter.

A very special friend of mine from Louisiana purchased these boys and paid for their delivery to Victoria as a donation for my soon to be Hippotherapy program. He had no clue of their condition.

These boys do NOT look like they did in the pictures advertising them when I bought them. It is expected for them to have colds or other minor issues, but nothing like this.

My hauler actually double checked their tags to make sure it was the right horses. Sure enough it was. They've lost a SIGNIFICANT amount of weight (well over 100 pounds) in the short time they were on Slaughter Lane.

"I don't know if your boy is going to make the trip, he's really sick and having trouble walking." Such scary words.... "This is the worst case I've ever seen." Yes now I am freaking out!

By the grace of God they made it to Victoria still standing up and are now, as of today, on the UC Davis Feeding Program with an ambitious goal to rehabilitate them back to working kids camps and ideally becoming a therapy horse!

THIS IS WHERE I NEED YOUR HELP!

I have over 2000 friends on Facebook, if everyone donated $1.00 it would tremendously help me with feeding these two boys, pay their vet bills, farrier bills, dental expenses, and more! There are MANY frequent vet visits in the near future. This is WAY more than I ever expected to take on, and I refuse to give up on them!

If you can help me, help these very deserving boys ---- we will forever appreciate it!!! I promise to keep everyone updated on their progress :)

My sweet husband always tells me I need to stop trying to save the world.... But I will always follow my heart and keep trying ;)

Thank you and please pray they recover quickly!

Please share and help me spread the word!!!
