Elizabeth Gordon Medical Funding

Donation protected
My name is Joshua Gordon .  I am disabled, and am currently in ministry, as much as I can be, at Grace Point Church Gallatin .  I hope one day to become ordained, and possibly even pastor a church of my own.  However, due to our current circumstance, I feel that God may have other plans for me and my wife.  Only time and prayer will tell.

I am raising money to help pay the medical bills for my wife, Elizabeth , who just underwent the Whipple  surgery at St. Thomas Hospital (Midtown)  in Nashville, TN.  We found out she had a tumor about a month or so ago at Centennial Hospital, and were referred to Dr. Polk  for removal of the tumor.  The tumor is not cancer, it is benign!  However, due to its location, and growth rate, it had to be removed or she would die.  This surgery (and recovery) is quite dangerous, if you’ve done any research on it, you will know how serious this surgery is.  We are looking at several months of recovery and the possibility that she may never be able to return to work again.

Being disabled myself, we already rely on limited funding (SSI Disability) for the things we need, including my own medical expenses.  Although my wife does have insurance, the out of pocket expense is astronomical for people who live on a fixed income.  If it weren’t for having such a loving family, I don’t know what we would have done up to this point.  That is why I am reaching out to good people like you.  Both our families have, and continue to help as much as they can, but there’s only so much that a few individuals can do.  However, if LOTS and LOTS of people help just a little bit, then it’s possible to overcome the financial burden that we are faced with.

Some bills have already started coming in, but the big one (the surgery itself and the long hospital stay) will be pending until after she is released to go home.  That could be anywhere from 15-45 days, depending on if there are any more setbacks.  ALL money from this fundraiser will go to pay our medical bills exclusively!  Absolutely none will go for normal everyday expenses.  And if by chance enough money is raised to take care of everything that is owed, any residual money will be donated to our favorite, non-profit organization (Grace Point Church Gallatin).  You can rest assured knowing that the money is going where it should go.  One way or another, it will HELP OTHERS!

I have set a goal of $50,000.00 for this fundraiser; however, I know that the bills could be much greater than that.  But seeing as how I do not know how much the final amount owed will be, I set it at a relatively low amount for this type of thing.  My wife and I will be eternally grateful for every penny that each of you gives!  And hope that somehow, through it all, that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is glorified through us!  If you are not able to give, please pray for my wife during this hard time.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much!  God Bless you all!
