Rename the Cell to Harambe Field!

Donation protected

If you've seen the news, beginning November 1st, US Cellular Field will be known as Guaranteed Rate Field.  Many Chicago White Sox fans, myself included, are not very happy with the name change.  I believe that there is a better name for our ballpark, one that aligns more with the White Sox values, work ethic, and grit.  That name is Harambe Field.

As you know, Harambe was a gorilla at Cincinatti Zoo who was shot by a zoo employee on May 28th, 2016.  I can't think of a better way of honoring our friend than to dedicate a major league sports stadium to his name.

Guaranteed Rate is paying the White Sox $6.4 million per year for the privelege of naming the field.   While a large amount of money, there is a vast network of Harambe supporters who can achieve this sum or perhaps even more through donations.

If we all pitch in what we can, even $1, then we can accomplish our goal.  Harambe Field will be a monument to both southside baseball and wildlife preservation, and will be a beacon of hope for fans of the White Sox and Western lowland gorillas alike.
