Hello Lovely People!

Dance, fashion, art.... are they all separate entities?  I don't like to think of them that way.  And I also think it's crucial we question 'rules' (however strictly you want to define them) wherever possible.  Wouldn't the world be cripplingly boring if we didn't?

Over the past several months I have been creating a live show that challenges the boundaries between these fields.  I am lucky enough to have it be part of On|Off at London Fashion Week this September.  The performance involves 6 classically trained dancers, headpieces, garments, video projections and a modular/movable set all choreographed into 4 distinct movements.

The project is about half-way through its development.  Come early August I will complete the existing cast of 3 dancers, make the rest of the costumes/headpieces, film/edit the video and complete the chorepgraphy with all 6 performers.  The money from you gorgeous donors will go to pay the artists involved (myself excluded): 6 dancers, 2 videographers, 1 designer and 1 sound engineer.  It will also help cover materials for 6 costumes and headpieces and 1 set plus renting rehearsal space (because practice makes perfect!).

Having a platform to bring visual and theatre arts together is a huge break so it is crucial that it is the best it can be: for myself and for everyone involved.

Aside from this project being a dream for me create and direct it is also a springboard for the young artists who are involved.  I was part of a project called The Debutante Ball when I finished dance school (several hundred years ago) which was also designed to help launch people's careers: it resulted in a dance company job.  My aim is that those involved will get paid for their talent and get exposure from the considerable press coverage this event garners.

I have self-funded the project up to this point but as one can imagine costs are quickly elevating, especially for a soon-to-be MA graduate!  Your help would more than appreciated on several levels: it will ensure artists are paid and that the production value will be as high as possible.  My hope is that this event will result in future commisions of this work and other new projects.

All donors will be named in the lookbook that will be printed for release at the show (unless you choose to be anonymous).  You will also receive a hardcopy of it plus a postcard with visuals of the show.

Every single donation counts.

Thank you , thank you!
