Son's Kidney Transplant

I am Don Meadows. My son Andrew is an active duty Sailor stationed in Norfolk. Andrew sufferes from a Kidney condition called IGA. This disease killed his kidneys. He is in need of a transplant.

The only place the military does transplants is Walter Reed near Washington.  Andrew's medical costs are covered. It is hoped his brother is a match.

If his brother is a match we will have to travel from Charelston SC, to Bethesda MD. 5 or 6 times.

Andrew and Donnie will require recovery time of 8 weeks.

We are desperate for funds to cover rental cars, gas, and food during the trips, as well as make up money for bills as we will all have to take extended time off. If Donnie is not  match we need to ready to go to Bethesda within 10 hours of being notified of a kidney becoming available.

These are the lives of my children.  How more important can anything be?

I will be so thankful to be able to be with my kids during this terrible time. They are are only 24 and 26 years old.
