Here is an update about J'Ron's recovery for 08/29/2016:
UPDATE: Yesterday J'Ron started physical therapy and the doctors have started to slowly take him off the ventilator. He practiced moving his arms and legs and even sat up for 10minutes with his legs dangling off the bed. It was hard for him to do for any longer with assistance. He was awake mostly all day yesterday and mouthing words. BUT THIS MORNING, J'Ron had PT and they said he stood with assistance 2x's and he sat on the side of the bed with his legs dangling for a while. He has also been off of the ventilator from 9am until now 12:30pm.. please continue to keep him in your prayers. He is improving and getting stronger by the day.

The original tragic event:
On August 5th at 1am,
A four-door sedan slammed into J'Ron, his roommate Kendrick and Kendrick's best friend Marty, who were crossing the street. Officers say a car was stopped at the intersection of Garnet Avenue and Baynard Street near the Bank of America building when another car traveled into another lane to pass.
The driver did not stop, striking all three of them. As of now there are no suspects in custody and we are urging police to do a sufficient investigation to have justice served.

While two of his friends have been blessed enough to have surgery, be alert, and even be released from the hospital; J'Ron remains in the ICU on a ventilator. J'Ron suffered severe brain trauma, fractured his head in three places, bruises from being dragged across the pavement and possible hearing damage. J'Ron is making strides day by day with progression as doctors watch his brain bleeding, swelling, pressure and activity. Though doctors are optimistic at his progression thus far, they believe this will be a day by day process and may be hospitalized for a month at the least, if things positively keep progressing.

We would like to thank everyone for their continue prayers, calls, texts and extreme hospitality in this tragic event. We have created this GoFundMe to help with any expenses that may be needed since we will likely be away from our homes in the Bay Area of California and living in hotel rooms in San Diego for a few months as J'Ron progresses through his recovery.
