In support of Brian Mance
Let us share with you how quickly life can change. Brian, his wife, Torrun and their son Jaden were celebrating 4th of July in their hometown with family and friends. On their way home, Brian complained about neck pain. The pain became so severe, they ended up in ER where Brian became increasingly worse and began to lose all mobility in his limbs. After days of waiting for a diagnosis and the consult of more than seven doctors, it was determined that Brian has neurosarcoidosis, a rare autoimmune disorder. He spent 21 days in the hospital and on July 25th was transferred to a rehabilitation center that specializes in the type of extensive therapy that will help him to regain mobility. By the way, this rehabilitation center is more than 75 miles from their home.
We are pleased and happy to say that Brian is making progress, but we understand the process. We also know that there will be major medical costs involved. We are asking that you donate to Brian's cause. Join us as we help this young family!!!
We are all believers and know the love and grace of God and the power of prayer. We ask for your prayers for Brian and his family. He is a loving husband, and father of an adorable 19 month old son. Help us get the word out, and share our page, and his story.
This week Brian began moving his feet!!!!! We are all excited beyond words!!
It has been almost 2 years since Brian was diagnosed with neurosarcoidosis, a rare autoimmune disorder and became paralyzed. So you can imagine the joy, excitement, and praise that went through their house when he moved his feet. They are experiencing the grace of God and know that "a better day is coming."
This is Brian's story and an update:
On July 4th, 2016, Brian became ill after visiting his hometown of Alcolu, SC. He was admitted to the hospital in Spartanburg, SC where he remained for three weeks. During that time, Brian remained paralyzed, was given test after test, and was examined by more than seven doctors in every imaginable specialty. The doctors determined that the illness and the paralysis were a result of neurosarcoidosis and recommended intense physical therapy to help him regain mobility. Brian was transferred to Carolinas Rehabilitation Center in Charlotte, NC where he remained for 30 days and made some progress. He was then recommended and accepted in the Shepherd Center, a top-ten rehabilitation and research hospital in Atlanta, GA. The therapy at Shepherd Center was intensive. Brian became stronger, but after 2 months, they released him citing the need for him to gain more upper body strength. Brian returned to Spartanburg and continued his rehab at the YMAC.
That was November, 2016. After months of treatments and therapy Brian is gradually starting to see improvements and the outlook is positive. However, he has not regained use of his extremities and still requires round the clock care. In-home care and transportation service remains expensive. Therefore, they still need your financial support.
We cannot say thank you enough times for the support you have given Brian and his family. They are truly humbled and thankful by your gracious generosity. Your prayers, thoughts, phone calls, cards, and letters, have made this journey to recovery lighter for them. You have helped them to carry their cross.
Brian remains positive and is believing God for total restoration. Jaden is growing fast and is now three. Brian and Torrun remains strong in their faith. The Mance family believes that if you are facing any challenges in your life that all you have to do is "hold on to God's unchanging hand". He will see you through.
Please find in your hearts to give today and share Brian's story with all your family and friends. Every little bit helps.
Thank you again
I want to again thank everyone for the continued love and support that you have shown. Over the past few months I have continued to work hard in Physical and Occupational Therapy. I am slowly gaining more mobility in my neck, along with my arms. Although I am is still bedridden I am working every day to regain mobility and strength. Along with these Rehabilitation services I am taken care of by caregivers who work around the clock to make sure that my family and I have help. These expenses, along with medical cost, are adding up and I am again reaching out for help. I am asking that you will continue to donate to my cause and help my family in this difficult time. The financial support along with cards, visits and prayers are greatly appreciated.
I know the love, the grace of God and the power of prayer will be with us throughout our journey. I am continuing to be the man that God has called me to be by being a loving husband and father to my 2 year old son and I am getting stronger by the day . Help me to once again share my story by sharing our page and continuing to donate.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
Hello Family and Friends,
We are writing to give you an update on Brian's progress and to ask once again for your support. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support you have shared with them during the last ten months. You have lifted up Brian and Torrun in so many ways.
Brian is making progress everyday and he is getting stronger. However, he still needs round-the-clock care and must use ambulatory transportation for doctor's appointments, physical therapy, and any specialized treatments. The neurosarcoidosis diagnosis remains as well as the paralysis.
As we try to provide Brian with the best of care, their challenge is having the funds necessary to meet daily, weekly, and monthly expenses. They need your help. The Go-Fund account is still active and whatever you are able to give lessen their financial obligations.
Brian and Torrun are spiritually grounded and feel blessed by every little bit of progress that Brian makes. Throughout his illness, Brian has kept that signature smile and upbeat attitude. They just wait and pray for the day that he joins us "whole again."
Please share our post with your friends and family. Again, we say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you have done and all you will continue to do❤
Work on it like you want it, Brian. We're behind you.
God is able my friend he has the power the strength to bless you with amazing out come keep fighting monarch love you and you're family
