Meet Sandra - a loving, caring, beautiful, intelligent, adventurous, courageously brave 29-year-old woman with her entire life ahead of her! Sandra was born and raised in New Jersey, and now lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. Anyone who truly knows her, knows what a ray of sunshine she is. Constantly laughing and telling jokes with a smile so contagious you can’t help but smile back.
On June 27th 2016, Sandra was diagnosed with Infiltrative Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer; grade 3 and maglignant. The news came as a shock to her as well as everyone around her. She, her family, and friends have been in a whirlwind ever since. Doctor visit after doctor visit, exam after exam and test after test have caused medical bills to pile up. And now that loving, and caring girl who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need, is in need of our help.
On behalf of her friends and family, we ask that you find it in your heart to help out and donate while we help Sandra KICK CANCER’S BUTT!!! She has a long road ahead of her, and stressing about bills is the last thing we want her to worry about.
Sandy has incurred $3,100 in medical bills so far, after insurance. This number is sure to go up over the next year. She has also had to miss several days of work anticipates a loss of over $2,000 in the near term.
If you are unable to donate, we ask that you say a prayer for Sandra and her family and friends while they go through this difficult time.
She will begin her road to recovery on July 15th when she has her first minor surgery to insert a “port” in her chest that will allow Chemotherapy to be administered.
Her first round of Chemotherapy will being on July 18th, 2016. She will be seen as an outpatient every three weeks over the course of 5-months. Once she’s gotten through chemotherapy, she will then meet with a surgeon to discuss a double-mastectomy (which will be voluntary for precautionary reasons). Once the Double-Mastectomy is complete, Sandra will begin radiation to ensure all of the cancer cells have been removed and lastly hormone therapy. Doctors have been amazingly optimistic regarding a full recovery, but the road ahead will still be a long one.
