In Memory Of Nickie Rorth Kan-Lac

Donation protected
This GoFundMe page is being created in memory of my sister-in-law Nickie (Rorth) Kan-Lac who passed away early morning on Thursday, July 21, 2016 while camping out at Basswood Lake in Quetico Provincial Park in Canada (borderline Minnesota). According to various news sources, a heavy storm swept through the northern part of Minnesota's forests along the U.S.-Canada border early that morning knocking down trees in its paths and, unfortunately, a tree fell on Nickie's tent; Nickie, along with a 13-year-old boy, died from that incident while a couple other campers were seriously injured.

My heart is tremendously heavy as I am writing this; I never thought, in a million years, that I would ever have to create this page to remember and honor her for the wonderful person that she was under this type of circumstance. Nickie was a dutiful daughter, a caring sister, a loving wife, a dedicated mother, a loyal friend, and a devoted volunteer-leader for a group of troops (in which her eldest son is part of) with the Boy Scouts of America. She was tremendously dedicated in her time and energy to help lead and guide the younger generations through church and especially scouting activities. Those who knew her knew that she was a high-spirited individual with a generous heart who always meant well for others and goes the extra miles for those she loved and cared for. It is heartbreaking to know that my niece and nephews no longer have their mother who once played an integral part in their lives.

She leaves behind a husband, Ricky and four children; Brayden, Eli, Noah, and Brooke. She will be deeply missed by many people who has had the opportunity to meet/know her. Heaven has gained an angel, and it is without a doubt that she is with her Lord in heaven.

Please give to help fund for her funeral services and other necessary arrangements for her parents and immediate family. Any amount is deeply appreciated. Thank you for your time, prayers, condolences, and generosity during this difficult time.

With much sincere thanks and appreciation (and on behalf of her family),
