Help Ben go the WAF Championships!

I was a small town country boy of 6 siblings and I was the youngest boy. Arm Wrestling was a normal pastime in my home as well as family events. It was not uncommon to see broken tables from the crew arm wrestling. After a while family events meant hide the tables!
I have grown into a skilled trainer, mentor, referee and champion! As a former  Worlds Silver Medalist, I understand the commitment needed to become a world champion. My commitment includes time and the resources needed to excel. While able to dedicate myself to training and fiscally supporting my passion, this caliber of event requires extraordinary resources. Each tournament and qualifying event leading to the Worlds require funds not provided through any government program. All expenses associated with travel, accommodation, uniforms, food, training and nutrition are at the athlete's expense.

A little bit about my passion for arm wrestling and my path to excellence:

1989 Was the tournament where I won my first match. This is where I learned that arm wrestling is not all about strength, technique, timing and experience is essential.

1990 Clint Bostock hosted a tournament for Sam Steele Days. Keith Koenig (president of Wrist Wrestling Association) came to town and ran the tournament. This was My First Tournament Win!

1990 I was persuaded to go to the provincials in Penticton and placed 3rd

1990 Nationals in Kelowna, I took 3rd place.

1991 Andy Elliotte came to Cranbrook and created Kootenay Kings and appointed me as Captain. I was team captain from 1991 to 1998

1993 Canadian Arm Wrestling Association was the last sit down arm wrestling National. I made it to the World Championships held in Edmonton and I tied for 5th place.

I have competed in countless local tournaments and competitions in the west and east Kootenays

1998 even with a neck injury, I went to the Elk Nevada State competition and won.

2008 Andy Elliotte and Pete Durning revived The Kootenay Kings Arm Wrestling Club and asked me to help with training new athletes.

2008 competed in Master's Division in Moosejaw and won with both arms, which qualified him for Team Canada again!

2008 Represented Canada at The World Armwrestling Finals in Kelowna, placed 5th in the right arm and silver metal finalist for the left arm.

2010 I qualified for Team Canada again in Winnipeg with 2nd in the right arm, and 1st in the left arm.

2010 Represented Canada at The World Finals. Placed 5th in both arms.

2016 World Armwrestling League Qualifier in Red Deer, Placed 2nd

2016 British Columbia Provincials placed 1st with left arm and 2nd with right arm in the masters division.

2016 Canadian Nationals qualified to represent Team Canada with both arms in Sofia, Bulgaria

This is where I need each of you. I am asking for your support so I am able to proudly represent Canada at the World Arm Wrestling competition in Bulgaria October 2016.
Since I was a child, Arm Wrestling has been my passion, constantly driving me towards living a healthy lifestyle and staying fit. Not only is it my passion, but I am looking to inspire the youth of today to see thats its possible to live your dreams.
I feel honored and blessed to be able to represent Canada at the 38th World Armwrestling Championships.
These next two months will be critical to my success and this is where you come in!
