Hi dear family, friends and fans, thanks for coming to our page!  My name is Nicholas B. Gianforti and after 17 combined years of serving on active duty in the Army and as a Department of Defense employee I decided to pursue my love of acting and filmmaking. Over the past year, my team and I have passionately worked to make my UCLA Extension thesis film Faery Tale a reality. I’ve invested much of my own money and now we’re in the last push of postproduction where I need your help to get this film finished and submitted to festivals.

A little about what I set out to make: as a kid of the 80s I’m a huge fan of fantasy films from that era. Movies like The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Legend, and The Never Ending Story helped shape my imagination! I’ve always wanted to make a film that might spark the feeling I had back then with kids of today.

So I wrote and directed a fantasy genre thesis film.

An important factor to me in making this film was to have strong female characters! And we’ve got them. There’s the main character Jules (played by the wonderful Julia Levanne ) who struggles with her past psychological issues in an effort to save her daughter Ella (played by the up and coming star Presley Moore ). We’ve got Faery Queen On’talai (played by the incomparable Tara Platt : Naruto, Sailor Moon) who is trying to save her world…and ours. And, lastly, we’ve got Elderoy (played by the talented Kendall Sinclair ) the last of the Faery Warrior Clan and sworn protector of the queen.

Rounding out the cast is the loving husband Brian (played by the ever-funny Nardeep Khurmi ) and our evil faery Dark Lord Vraed (played by the amazing Yuri Lowenthal : Ben 10, The Prince of Persia).

You’re probably asking yourself, “where would my help go?” Well, here’s a break down of what still needs to be done.

- Sound Design: things like the sound effect faery wings make; Foley – creating the sound of clothing and, in our case, armor; there’s recording voiceovers and even cleaning up the on set recorded dialog. These are a just a few examples of what needs to be done to make a well sounding film.

 - The musical composition: Jon Brantingham , another Army veteran, friend, and talented composer, has put together a beautiful score. We’re very excited with the hope of being able to record these pieces with live musical instruments.

- Color correction: the process of altering and enhancing the color of a motion picture digitally.

 - Film Festivals! Yep, that’s right. We actually have to pay to submit to film festivals. The average film festival circuit submission costs can run about upwards of $3,000.

We're trying to finish the film by September, so your help can make the difference.

I am so thankful and eager for you to join us on this magical journey!

Because of all of you, Faery Tale has finished its festival run and we're proud that our film was an official selection to 9 festivals and one award!!! Our team could NOT have done any of this without your support. In the coming weeks, we'll be releasing the film publicly on Facebook/Youtube, etc... and I wanted to share the Behind the Scenes video first with you all.
