Dear friends,
On July 15, 2016 our friend Eddie was seriously injured in an accident while doing something he loved. Riding his motorcycle. As a result of Eddie’s accident, both of his legs have been amputated below the knee. Up until now, Eddie has undergone three surgeries, and is recovering in an Intensive Care Unit in Hamilton.
At this point there are many questions that remain unanswered surrounding Eddie’s recovery and future mobility. One thing that is clear, is that life altering injuries like Eddie’s carry a significant emotional and financial impact. From the seemingly minute costs for parking, meals, and lodging for Eddie’s family while he is in Hamilton, to the larger scale costs for medical aids like stair lifts, wheelchairs, and renovations to accommodate any other aid Eddie may need, it is easy to see how the costs can seem insurmountable.
To those of you who have already donated, thank you very much. Your generosity and kind words mean the world to Eddie, Andrea, and their family.
To those considering making a donation, please know that any amount will help. Eddie has a long road ahead, and easing the financial burden will allow him recover without having to stress over finances.
Life for Eddie and his family has changed forever and we need to be there to support all of them while they overcome challenges ahead of them.
