Resurrect the 66 Courts Motel

$520 of $50,000 goal

Raised by 8 people in 26 months
My name is David Wickline and I am the Author and Publisher of the IMAGES OF 66 BOOKS Series. I also was able to save the neon sign from the 66 COURTS Motel in 2004, which was located at 407 Old Route 66 in  GROOM, TEXAS. I now plan to sell my Roadhouse 66  restaurant and bar in Cloumbus, Ohio and move to Arizona and buy a piece of land along old 66 and reserrect the 66 COURTS MOTEL and MAGNOLIA STATION, with Garage. Also during the project I will be reconstructing the OFFICE and House/residence of the historic motel (one of the first buildings in the complex  to be raised and not in many photos at all) from recently acquired photos and video of the same. I plan to use the Motel building which will be 18' by 105' (and an exact replica of 6 rooms) for displaying all of my Route 66 Memorabila into a museum setting) for all to see. I will live on site in the office/house and hold the Magnolia Station open as many days and as well as I can for 66 travelers at this age so they can experience a new attraction along the old highway we so fondly love and adore. So ... if you would wish to help ... any amount you can spare would be so very much appreciated .... and put to work so all can enjoy. This is not for my personal facebook page but for the facebook page named "66 COURTS"

Plans are still underway to RESURRECT THE 66 COURTS MOTEL as a Route 66 Museum and Gift Shop in Arizona on Route 66. The Roadhouse 66 Bar & Grille was under contract for sale but at the last minute the buyer withdrew. This sets the plans back, but other planes are still in the making. Key Fobs are available. Postcards are being designed and most importantly, drawings are finished and plans are underway to construct a 1:43 scale model of the historic property complete with 1958 light blue and white Edsel of 1:43 scale. I am also nearing completion of my third book "OFFICIAL RIDING ROUTE 66 TOUR BOOK" A detailed Self-Guided / Self-Drive Manual & two-week Itinerary for traveling Route 66 on a motorcycle or by automobile. I will be attending the 2017 Birthplace of Route 66 Festival in Springfield, MO., August 11 and 12 .... hope to see many of you there and talk 66. Party is at the Rail Haven.

Its not much, but I hope you can make this a reality!! My friend and I just did Route 66 last year September time. Saw some amazing places and scenery, met some extraordinary people and above all the history tied into this one highway. Sadly we couldn't see everything due to work obligations as our time was limited. However, I do plan to do this wonderful trip again. I wish you all the best with this!
