Roberta is caregiver for her husband Reg....
Reg Peabody says:
My health is not good.
I have diabetes, arthritis in legs, feet and hips, so I'm disabled. I can hobble with a cane, just one or two steps, enough to get into the electric wheelchair. The wheelchair is very important because it is how I get around anywhere, to appointments, doctors and the hospital, a little shopping with wife and to get out to sit in the sun. I also have a really bad heart and have a pacemaker.
My wheelchair is broken down, needs new big 12 volt batteries, deep cycle gel sealed, 2 x $460, for that and it will cost another $100 for someone to take the chair apart, remove the dead batteries and put in new batteries. I'm completely housebound until I can get these new batteries.
That is a total of around $1,200 for all of Reg's needs.
Roberta, his wife says she has various medical issues, hydrocephalus, Ménière's disease, is in need of new glasses and very much in need of hearing aids ($4,000 because of her special conditions). Her scooter is also out of service right now due to dead batteries. Needs 2 smaller batteries, $400 total for the 2 deep cycle gel cell batteries). Roberta has COPD and has had heart issues also, but is deeply involved in caring for her husband.
That is a total of around $4,500 for Roberta's needs.
This couple lives in low income housing on pensions and these costs facing them are exorbitant for them right now. These financial issues are causing extra stress on this already taxed couple, so I am offering this fundraising opportunity to them and hoping for your assistance.
The Peabody's will appreciate whatever help you can give and will be thanking God for you. It is their dream to be mobile once again with their wheelchair and scooter, and Roberta would love to be able to hear properly again. Thanks for considering their situation.
