Hello there! Thank you for taking the time to visit Leah's page!
On May 5th, 2016 our beloved Leah went into surgery with the hopes of alleviating the side effects of a life-long battle with Crohn's Disease. Surgery went well initially until the following week, when she developed sepsis, which almost took her life. Since that week, Leah has been fighting an uphill battle to heal. She has had a trach put in to help her breathe and is getting stronger every day. Unfortunately the sepsis did some permanent damage to her heart and a pacemaker was placed to keep her ticker ticking and was also on dialysis for a few weeks until her kidneys kicked in again.
Leah is a fighter, but has a long road ahead of her including months of rehabilitation to get her strength back and her organs functioning properly again. Leah will have some very large medical bills and home care fees to pay for and with your help we can ease some of that burden.
Thank you for your generous support of our amazing friend, Leah Swanson.
