Rebuild Change The Mentality

Change The Mentality was founded by Dennis Foster in 2013 to help give back to the Detroit community and provide a safe outlet for children to grow up in.
Over the last three years, Foster, a former professional basketball player and one of Marygrove College's all-time leading scorers, has opened the doors to his gym to kids of all ages and provided positive mentorship as well as basketball skills training.
Throughout his time working with children, he has provided opportunities that wouldn't have otherwise existed, such as helping the children travel to Europe.
During this summer, he has had daily basketball camps at no cost at all to the partcipants, while also teaching them solid lessons about giving back to the community themselves. His Facebook feed is a testament, as he has countless videos of himself and the children driving around Detroit and giving out meals to those that are less fortunate.
This past weekend, Foster's gym was vandalized and countless things, such as basketballs, his laptop and other crucial parts of his program were stolen.
It is at this time that someone who has given so much to the community is looking for the community to pick him back up and allow him to keep moving forward with enriching the lives of children within Detroit. We thank you for any contributions that can be given, whether it be monetarily through our GoFundMe or in-kind donations such as basketballs or skilled trades to repair the gym.
