This fund has been set up to help the Papageorgiou family with medical expenses and funeral costs in a time that is overwhelmingly tragic for all of them. As many of you know, the family of 6 beautiful children and loving father lost their beloved mother less than a year ago (19/8/15).
They are now facing a new tragedy with the passing of Despina, the eldest daughter and a source of motherly care and comfort for all of them. Despina was treated and then passed away in Greece meaning that medical costs and the costs of bringing her home for a funeral are astronomical. The family is still reeling from the loss of their mother and have been affected financially because of this. Please help this family- we can't erase what has happened but we can try to make the financial side of this as easy as possible to burden. Read below for fuller account of Despina's story.
Despina was a beautiful and caring young woman who after battling non Hodgkin's lymphoma and going othrough intensive chemotherapy, finally went into remission. To celebrate her new found health Despina fulfilled a lifelong dream to travel and set off with her best friend Alena to Greece. Unfortunately whilst in Thessaloniki she developed pneumonia and ended up in intensive care where her condition became critical and ultimately claimed her life. (17th July 2016)
This page was established because so many of Despinas family and friends have kindly asked for ways to help the Papageorgiou family in this great time of need.
We hope that your kind donations will fund the cost of medical bills and most importantly, to bring Despina home and fund the funeral and also assist the Papageorgiou family in the future.
