Brain Aneurysm: Road To Recovery

Donation protected
On Saturday, July 16th at 7:30AM, my mother Eva Haynes was getting ready to go to work as she always does. She leaned over to start blow drying her hair and had a sudden shock. Her head and her neck hurt severely, but she was able to call my younger sister to come assist her. 911 was called and they rushed her to the hospital to find out that she had a brain aneursym. From the local hospital they transported her to Saint Thomas West, just outside of Nashville, Tennessee.  Upon arrival, they immediately took her back for a CT scan of her brain to confirm that the aneurysm had indeed ruptured, and would need emergency surgery. Within hours the neurosurgeon of Saint Thomas West had assembled his team and was underway into the surgery on my mom's brain to prevent the aneursym from bleeding any further. This operation was extremely risky and life threatening, but I am happy to say that she made it through after 2 hours of operation, then an additional 2 hours of putting a catheter into her head to drain fluid from her brain. She is currently in stable condition and able to open her eyes to recognize us.

My name is Justin Haynes and I am her son. Upon hearing of the success of her surgery and that, if all went well, she would be in the hospital for a minimum of 21 days. 14 of those days would be spent in the Neuro ICU, and then hopefuly from there she would be transferred into a normal room and be well on her way to recovering the best that she can. She does have health insurance, thankfully, so that should cushion the blow to some extent.

My mother worked 2 jobs, both self employed. For her first job she cleaned homes and businesses and has done so for my entire life, over 29 years. Her second job is another reason for this campaign. My mother sells exotic pets. She travels to markets across Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama to educate and sell people exotic pet birds and others to brighten up their home and add an amazing member to the family.

This leads me to the reason I have created this GoFundMe. My mother was a primary financial pillar to our family.  It has come to my attention that her road to recovery will be an expensive one and well beyond my family's means. In truth, we are not a family to normally ask for help. However, in this case, especially for my mother, I am willing to exhaust every single option.

I am doing this campaign to assist with the medical bills to come, along with the expenses for any medicine and medical equipment she may need once arriving home. Our home may have to be altered, as she will most likely be disabled in some way. She will need physical therapy. Also, we are certainly going to need assistance with buying food and necessities for the animals to keep them healthy during her recovery process.

My mother is a very loving mother. She does everything she can to help people, and can rarely ever say no when it comes to helping someone. She always makes her best attempt to do a random act of kindness per day when she is able. She is a wonderful, hardworking mother of 3, grandmother of 4, and great grandmother of 2.

My family and I want to do absolutely everything in our power and ability to make sure that we get everything she needs for her recovery and beyond. She has raised us, taken care of us in times of need, provided tremendous amounts of help to us and those around her, and we want to continue to do what we can to take care of her.

I am greatly thankful to anyone that is able to donate to assist us in this great time of need. I am greatly thankful to anyone that just simply reads this page. Every little bit helps, every prayer helps, every thought helps. I will provide updates on her recovery process each day.

Thank you for any support you can provide.
