Assist families of slain BR police
Donation protected
On the morning of July 17th, 3 Baton Rouge Policemen were killed in the line of duty responding to a report of an individual on Airline Highway walking with an assault rifle. Several more officers are seriously injured.
The officers killed were:
Matthew Gerald, a 41 year old BR city policeman and former Army officer, who leaves behind a wife and 2 daughters
Montrell Jackson, a 32 year old BR city policeman, who leaves behind a wife and infant son
Brad Garafola, an EBR Sheriff's Deputy, who leaves behind a wife and 4 children
The families of the deceased officers will need financial assistance to cover funeral expenses, as well as other immediate financial needs. Also, the critically injured EBR Sheriff's Deputy will need assistance with medical bills and the expenses of being out of work while they hopefully make a full recovery.

***Please note that ALL proceeds raised will be donated to the families of the 3 fallen officers, as well as the officer who is in critical condition. I started this campaign because my friend and coworker is the brother-in-law of Matthew Gerald, and I wanted to do something to help raise money for his family, and the families of the other officers. As a proud resident of Baton Rouge, I know that our policeman do not choose their careers for the money, and I wanted to give myself and others around the country a means to offer needed financial support to these families who lost their husbands/fathers suddenly and in such a cruel fashion. I will contact the BRPD and EBR Sheriff's Office this week for assistance in taking over the campaign, and to determine the appropriate individual(s) to manage this campaign and the subsequent withdrawal and distributions of the donations to the victims families.***
